First year Allan Hancock College Head Coach Dominique Miller was named the Western State Conference Women's Water Polo Coach of the Year. Santa Barbara City College sophomore Addison Seale meanwhile was named the conference's Player of the Year.

Miller earned the honors after guiding the second year program to 14-16 overall record and 5th place overall finish and 4th place finish at the 2016 WSC Tournament. That made for an 11 win improvement for the young Bulldogs squad.

Seale was the conference's assist leader (107) on the three-time defending champion Vaqueros. Seale was also 10th in the WSC in goals scored with 61, and 6th in steals with 68, after helping lead Santa Barbara to a Southern California Regional Championship and a CCCAA State Runner-Up finish.
