The Los Angeles Mission College Baseball team laid claim to the 2017 Western State Conference South Division Championship. It's just the second title for the Eagles in program history, and the second for LA Mission in the last four years.

The 2017 title came down to the final regular season contest of the year, when the Eagles hosted Los Angeles Pierce College with whom Mission was tied for first place with. Pierce would charge out of the gate with two runs in the top of the first, with Mission able to half their deficit in the bottom half of the opening frame. The Eagles then got a three-run home run by Robert Reeves in the bottom of the third to surge in front 4-2.

The score would stay their for the remainder of the game, as Anthony Donatella picked up his sixth win of the year, going 7.2 innings, surrendering six total hits, those two early runs, while striking out 10 Brahma batters. Gonzalo Rios would record the save, getting the final four outs, without giving up a hit or run.

The Eagles finished the year 26-13 overall and 15-5 in WSC South play. LA Mission was seeded #8 in the 2017 CCCAA Southern California Baseball Playoffs and will host #9 Palomar College in the regional round of competition.
