Both the Owls and the Cougars were in the same Super Regional with #1 Riverside City College and #6 Santiago Canyon College. Citrus got to the Super Regionals after upsetting three time defending State Champ Cypress College in the first round, while Canyons moved on after defeating Saddleback College in three games.
In the Super Regionals, the Owls were eliminated after two games, falling to Riverside 2-4 and then Santiago Canyon 3-4. Canyons meanwhile went all the way to the final if necessary game before running out of gas against the Tigers of Riverside.
