
Mission’s Boundy; Canyons’ Russo and Wissmath Take Blue Top Honors
Los Angeles Mission College sophomore Melissa Boundy was named the Western State Conference Blue Division Player of the Year, while College of the Canyons sophomore Ashley Russo was named the WSC Blue Pitcher of the Year. Canyons top man John Wissmath meanwhile took home WSC Blue Coach of the Year honors.

Canyons top man John Wissmath meanwhile took home WSC Blue Coach of the Year honors.
Boundy hit .439 in WSC Blue play, over the course of 21 games, posting a .526 on-base percentage and a .924 slugging percentage. Boundy hit six doubles, one triple, and eight long balls in conference play, scoring 27 runs and driving in 16.
Russo started all 21 games for the Cougars, throwing 116 innings, and posted a 2.40 ERA. Russo was 18-2 in that stretch, striking out 94 batters, and averaging 5.67 K's per game.
Wissmath meanwhile guided his Cougar squad to their sixth conference title with him at the helm and their 14th overall. Canyons went 19-2 in WSC Blue play, running away with the division.
