Moorpark's Ava Ball wins State 400m Hurdle Title
MISSION VIEJO, CA - The Raider Women's Track & Field season concluded at the 3C2A State Meet hosted by Saddleback College. The four qualifiers combined for 15 points for a 17th overall state placing. | ORIGINAL RELEASE
Sophomore Ava Ball concluded her Raiders career with a state championship performance winning the 400m Hurdles in a school record-breaking time of 1:01.05. The old school record was 1:02.9 held by Ball. Ball started the race and made up the lane 5 stagger after the first turn. She was leading in the backstretch going into the last turn. As she came out of the last turn in the lead, Ball started to pull away from the pack. Putting the hammer down, Ball left no doubt as she crossed the finish line with a 10-yard lead.
