The Santa Barbara City College Women's Golf team wrapped up a magical 2013 season this past Monday and Tuesday at the Tracey Golf and Country Club. The Vaqueros held off Fullerton College by four strokes to claim the CCCAA State Championship with a two day team total of 646.
Santa Barbara opened up the two day tournament with a team round of 317. Fanny Johansson led the way with a two over par 74. On day two, the Vaqueros fell back by 12 strokes to fire a 329, just holding off a hard charging Fullerton squad who followed up their 327 on Monday with a 323. Still it was enough as the Vaqueros claimed the school's ninth overall State Championship.
Johansson finished up her tournament with a 77 on Tuesday, posting a two day total of 151. That was eight strokes better than the next closest competitor as she earned the CCCAA Individual State Championship, and was named All-State.
