2013 Women's Soccer News

Los Angeles Pierce College and College of the Canyons, the Western State Conference’s final two remaining teams in the 2013 CCCAA Southern California Regionals both finished their season in the second round this past week. Pierce fell to Orange Coast College 1-1 in penalty kicks, while Canyons’ terrific campaign came to a close at the hands of San Diego Miramar 1-0.

In their first season in the Western State Conference North Division, the Los Angeles Pierce College Women’s Soccer program grabbed the conference crown thanks to a 0-0 tie with Moorpark College in their final regular season contest. The tie gave the Brahmas one point and helped them stave off Ventura College, who finished a point back of Pierce.

A total of five teams from the Western State Conference will be representing the WSC in the upcoming California Community College Athletic Association Playoffs. Two teams from the WSC South and three teams from the WSC North all earned nods today.

The College of the Canyons Women’s Soccer team clinched their third straight Western State Conference South crown on Tuesday evening with a 3-1 win over Citrus College. The win relegated the Owls to second place no matter the outcome of the final regular season contest for each, and gave the Cougars their seventh title overall.
