Canyons Women Sweep WSC East Soccer Accolades

For the fourth straight year and sixth time in his nine year career at College of the Canyons head coach Justin Lundin was named the Coach of the Year, this time once again in the Western State Conference East Division. Lundin earned the honors after guiding the Cougars to their seventh straight conference title. Earning the Player of the Year nod was sophomore midfielder Angel Quintero. Quintero, who was a 1st team All-WSC East selection as a freshman, had six goals and five assists for a total of 17 points in 2017. 

The Cougars boasted 12 total members on the All-WSC East team after going a perfect 8-0 in WSC East play. Canyons hasn't lost a conference meeting since 1-0 setback at Santa Monica College on Tuesday October 28th, 2014. College of the Canyons would go on to be lone representative of the WSC East in the 2017 CCCAA Playoffs, earning the #2 overall seed. The Cougars would be upset in the regional quarterfinals by WSC South member Los Angeles Pierce College, getting sent off on penalty kicks after 120 minutes of scoreless action.
