Barstow College held off a late rally by Citrus College on Saturday night to secure a share of the inaugural Western State Conference East Division Championship. The Owls had two three's rattle in and out at the buzzer as the two school's would settle for co-conference championships.

 Citrus College would go 23-6 on the regular matching Barstow's 8-2 mark in WSC East play. The Vikings would finish 15-11, and win their first conference title since their 1985 State Championship squad. For Citrus it would be their first WSC title since 2012.

Both schools and a third WSC East team, Antelope Valley College, would get into the 2017 CCCAA SoCal Playoffs. Citrus would earn the highest seed of any WSC school, sitting at #6 and will host #10 Cerritos College on Friday night at 7:00 PM. Antelope Valley, which was seeded #14 will host #19 Santa Monica College on Wednesday night, while Barstow, which is seeded #17, will travel to #18 San Diego Miramar College on Wednesday.
