Moorpark’s Plummer Named Coach of the Year; Ventura’s Campbell Named Player of the Year

Moorpark College Head Coach Kenny Plummer, in his first year at the helm of the Raiders, was named the Western State Conference North Division Coach of the Year. Ventura College freshman guard Katie Campbell.

Campbell led the Pirates with an 18 points per game average. She did so on 40.7% shooting from the field and 32.3% shooting from downtown. Campbell also posted a 78.6% shooting mark from the charity stripe. In addition to her scoring prowess, Campbell was second on the team in rebounds (6.4 rpg), assists (3.7 apg), and steals (2.2 spg).

Plummer helped guide the Raiders to their first 20 win season since 2003 after they finished 20-9 overall. His 8-2 mark in WSC North play was also the best finish by a Raiders squad since 2012. Plummer is also the first Moorpark Women's Head Coach to be named the Coach of the Year since 2003.
