Santa Barbara City College's Freshman Bruna Magalhaes won the 2013 California Community College Athletic Association Women's State Singles Title recently. It is the first State Singles Title by a Vaquero in the Women's Tennis Program history.

Magalhaes, #1 seed headed into the tournament, defeated #2 seed Sarah Anderson of Fullerton 6-2, 7-6. Magalhaes mounted a furious comeback after trailing 5-6 in the second set. Magalhaes kept serve in the next game, forcing a tiebreaker, which she dominated 7-1 en route to the State Title. Magalhaes finished the year 19-0.
