MXC: Bakersfield Sweeps WSC Postseason Superlative Awards

After claiming the program's first conference titles since 1993, the Bakersfield College men's cross country team has swept the Western State Conference superlative awards.

Pam Kelly, who brings more than three decades of experience to the Renegades, was selected as the Coach of the Year. This is the third time that Coach Kelly has received the WSC superlative and is the first on the men's side after also claiming the nod in 1989 and 2004 for the women's program.

BC's Cesar Mirales was selected as the Assistant Coach of the Year after serving alongside Kelly, while Nathanael Rodriguez was tabbed as the Athlete of the Year. Rodriguez led the way for the Renegades at the WSC Championship back in October after racing to an individual title. He went on to place 7th at the SoCal Regional Championship and 38th at the 3C2A State Championship.

As a team, Bakersfield finished third at both the state and regional championship events.
