
Pirates Make it 26 Straight
The Ventura College Women’s Basketball team kept one of the longest active conference championship streaks running recently when they clinched their 26th straight WSC North Championship. The Pirates recently clinched the 26th title with a 69-32 victory at Allan Hancock College.
The Ventura College Women's Basketball team kept one of the longest active conference championship streaks running recently when they clinched their 26th straight WSC North Championship. The Pirates recently clinched the 26th title with a 69-32 victory at Allan Hancock College.
The Pirates clinched the outright WSC North title with that 37 point victory in Santa Maria, but got some help thanks to a three point loss by second place Oxnard College at Santa Barbara City College on the same night. Ventura finishes out it's season with by playing host to Santa Barbara on Wednesday the 17th, and traveling to Oxnard for their regular season finale on the 20th.
Since the WSC split into two divisions back in 1987, Ventura has won 26 of the 29 WSC North Championships. On their current 26 straight championship run, the Pirates have won 97.8% of their games in WSC North play.
