
Canyons Clinches 15th WSC South Title
The College of the Canyons Women’s Basketball program clinched their 15th overall WSC South title on Saturday night with a 85-70 victory at West Los Angeles College. The Cougars did so with two games remained on their 2015-2016 regular schedule.

It's the first WSC South title for the Cougars and Head Coach Greg Herrick since the 2011-2012 season when they shared the crown with Bakersfield College. This time around though, they'll be no sharing as they clinched the title for themselves with two games remaining in the 2016 WSC South schedule.
Sitting at 22-4 and 12-0 in WSC South play, Canyons holds a four game lead over a trio of colleges who are tied for second place. The Cougars have won 17 straight contests as they try to close out the season against two of those three contest with a road game at Los Angeles Valley College and their home and regular season finale against Antelope Valley College.
Since the Western State Conference split into two divisions in 1987, Canyons has gone on to win 51.7% of the WSC South titles.
