Oxnard Men's Hoops Visits Lemonwood Elementary

Oxnard College Men's Basketball took time out of their busy schedules to visit Lemonwood Elementary School on Monday. | ORIGINAL RELEASE

Members of the Condor squad played pick-up basketball with young boys and girls at Lemonwood Elementary School.  The event was set up by assistant coach, Sampson Brue, who talked about how important it is for his team to give back this holiday season by playing and having fun with local students.  "We wanted to have some fun and this was an easy way to show the importance of giving and sharing for our team."  The Lemonwood Lions mixed with the OC Condors, and may have even scored a few points (and pointers) from the six collegiate players.

"It's great to see the college and school coming together to create a positive impact.  We hope that even small, impromptu events like this can show the kids some of the fun things we can do while continuing their education, right next door at Oxnard College," responded OC AD, Jonas Crawford

Some of the players wanted to volunteer to go back to the school in the near future for some more practice and to visit the classroom.
