Moorpark Sweeps WSC North Superlative Awards, All-Conference Team Announced

Moorpark College swept all superlative awards on the 2024 Western State Conference (North) list of honorees after clinching the program's first league title since 2016 with an 11-1 record. The list of major award winners and all-conference selections were chosen by the WSC North coaches after the conclusion of the regular season.

Jack Benyshek led the way as the Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The Simi Valley High School alum averaged 16.5 points per game en route to a 51.9 shooting percentage from the field during the conference slate.

Fellow teammate Jamaal Unuakalu was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Year after a solid sophomore campaign. He registered an impressive mark of 51 blocks while averaging 11.1 rebounds and 15.6 points per game against WSC North foes.

Along with the athletes receiving recognition, Raider's head coach Keith Higgins was named WSC North Coach of the Year for the second time in a row. Higgins led the program to their first outright championship since 2006 and eighth overall.
