
Glendale Snags 6th Straight Conference Title
GLENDALE, Calif. - The Glendale College women's basketball team secured a sixth consecutive Western State Conference (WSC) title after going 13-1 against Southern Division foes.
The Vaqueros clinched the crown after topping LA Valley College in a 72-49 victory at home on Sophomore Day. That victory marked the 17th consecutive victory for the program after overcoming a 10-0 deficit at one point in the first quarter before rallying to take a 25-20 halftime advantage. A 39-point explosion in the third quarter put the game out of reach after play resumed.
Glendale closed out the regular season with an overall record of 23-4 and a 13-1 mark against league foes after suffering a 67-62 loss to Citrus in the regular season finale. They earned an automatic spot in the postseason bracket and were tabbed as the No. 4 seed in the Southern California Regional Tournament. Other WSC South members to earn postseason appearances are No. 15 West LA, No. 16 Antelope Valley, No. 19 Citrus, and No. 24 LA Valley.
