All-Conference Honorees Announced, Bakersfield & Santa Monica Split Superlative Awards

Bakersfield College and Santa Monica College split the main women's volleyball superlative awards after both programs secured a share of the 2023 Western State Conference (South) crown with 11-1 records versus league foes at the conclusion of the regular season. Their lone conference loss came against each other after splitting in a pair of five-set thrillers during the regular season. 

Carl Ferreira was selected as the Coach of the Year after leading the Renegades to the top of the conference standings for the fifth time over the last six seasons. BC's Aubree Dees was named as the Co-Player of the Year after registering 2.5 kills and 5.39 assists per set while notching a .368 hitting percentage through league play. Fellow teammate Kya Jones was tabbed as the Co-Libero of the Year with 5.78 digs per set and 22 aces through 12 WSC South matches.

Santa Monica also saw two individuals claim superlative awards, led by Mia Paulson's Co-Player of the Year designation. The Truckee native closed the conference slate with a .302 hitting percentage and 30 total blocks en route to an average of 4.23 assists per set. Sophia Olde, also a member of the Corsairs crew, was dubbed the Co-Libero of the Year with 3.33 digs per set through 12 league contests.
